Longbow Shoot Archive 2006
Forest of Bere Bowmen would like to thank all the archers,
helpers and judges who took part in the longbow shoot on the 20th May 2006.
A report from a FoBB member at the shoot 2006
John and I experienced our first tournament at the 3rd FoBB Longbow Championship and found it a very enjoyable experience. We would like to thank Alan Strong who organised it and those club members who helped it run smoothly.
As we look at the torrential downpours on the 21st May, we are so thankful the shoot took place on the 20th, when although cloudy there were only a few spits of rain. (Ed - the archers also made full use of the fact the range is so sheltered!) The company at the shoot was very congenial, warmed by the initial glass of sherry. Of FoBB members, apart from us, Alan Strong and Paul Townley competed; John won a colour prize and the rest of us came away with no prizes, but memories of a fun day.
